Penarth Downhill Derby, South Glamorgan
The Penarth Downhill Derby is an event held on Carnival Day each year where amateur drivers race homemade karts (Soapbox Vehicles) down the hill towards the esplanade. Each hand-made vehicle is non-motorised and relies on the force of gravity (and skill) for propulsion. Karts built for speed or fun are welcome to race against each other on the all new obstacle course.
The course has been designed to accommodate both speed and fun elements and is open to everyone.
